Dissolved Oxygen OD |
| It is the measurement of dissolved oxygen in water, usually expressed in ppm (parts per million). The solubility of oxygen in water depends on the temperature: the higher the temperature, the less oxygen dissolves. On the other hand if the water is contaminated it has many microorganisms and organic matter and the great respiratory activity decreases the dissolved oxygen. A high level of DO indicates that the water is of good quality |
